Gynecomastia

Categories
Health/Nutrition

Many men, both young and older, are seeking some way of making gynecomastia disappear from their life. Exercise and dieting haven't worked, and they don't particularly want to resort to surgery. Some of the top mental-emotional healing methods will very likely work, but gynecomastia can, in well over 90% of cases, be cured - with simple nutrition and exercises. And if you're a teenager trying to live with it, do take seriously the comments of doctors who work in the field when they say that, in the vast majority of cases, it disappears by the late teens.

HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM

As you may have read somehwere the cause is over-stimulation of the hormone, oestrogen, with the result that the breasts enlarge. However, one London doctor who has always had enlarged breasts himself, advises against hormone treatment, saying that it won't reduce the size of breasts.

Naturally, you'll be very self-conscious about your condition, probably keeping your chest covered by loose fitting shirts, avoiding showering while other boys are about in school or gym shower rooms, not going swimming, keeping well covered at home where you probably don't want anyone to know. Also, getting teased can make you feel guilty about your condition, as though somehow you've caused it. Or you may even feel like a freak You are not a freak!!!. Lots of teenage boys have gynecomastia as something to be lived with until it just disappears. And, besides, there are successful treatments available if it does happen to continue. Remember, many doctors recommend letting nature take its course and, perhaps 95% of the time, it will disappear without any treatment at all.

What can you do in the mean time to make life easier for yourself?

If you can talk to a parent or to both parents, by all means do so. You may be surprised, even though they know less than you do about the condition, how supportive they can be. Tell them what you've learned, that most often it will just naturally disappear, and then keep talking with them. Or maybe you're pretty sure that one of your mates has gynecomastia too. If so, talk to him, at first maybe skirting round the subject till you're really sure. And then take the bull by the horns and come out into the open about it. You can be almost certain that he will be more than glad to have someone to share things with. One thing to avoid is putting on weight in an attempt to cover up your breasts. It just won't work!

To deal with it well, you'll need to be as strong a person as you can because it won't be easy - at first, anyway. Think of it this way: you are already strong. Well, aren't you? Faced with such a big issue, especially for a teenager - doubtless worse even than having a small tool - you are coping. More than that, you're actively seeking out how best to deal with gynecomastia itself. Surely that shows strength!

A question now: Are your breasts or nipples sensitive to the touch? If they are, that's very normal. It's just that as your breasts are enlarged you now notice it, whereas most men wouldn't. Just a very small number of straight men make use of this sensitivity in their sex play. A bigger percentage of gay men, however, enjoy nipple play.

Be aware that a side-effect of some drugs, e.g. cannabis and anabolic steroids, is enlarged breasts. If you happen to take either, you might decide to relieve your present condition by giving up the drugs. After all, it's embarrassing you and also stressing you out, isn't it? It can also be a side-effect of some medicines. So, if you're taking any prescribed medication, check the label for possible side-effects.

If you're an adult man, and the gynecomastia hasn't gone away or it has appeared later in life, the same treatments are available for you as for the teenager. Avoid surgery, some doctors would say, because it doesn't always work.

For further information go to the Google, Yahoo, etc, search engines and type in both the English and American spellings: gynaecomastia and gynecomastia.
