Best Pets When You Have a Unit

Categories
Home/Family Unit friendly pets

Many people love to have a pet, but if you live in a unit, you need to make sure your pet will suit you - and that your environment will suit your pet. You also need to think of your lifestyle. If you are out at work a lot, an animal that needs lots of company and affection may not be the most suitable. Lonely pets get bored and mischievous.

If you love dogs, a Maltese may be the ideal pet. Maltese dogs don't require a great deal of room and they don't shed much hair either, which makes keeping them easier. They do require lots of attention and affection, though.

Cats are often the chosen pets for those in units. Many cats spend all their days indoors, but if you can take your cat out on a lead or give it access to outdoors each day, it will be a happier animal. However, cats do tend to scratch furniture and climb on things.

If there is enough room, a bird might be the ideal pet. Cockatiels can be taught to talk and many birds can be let out of their cage to fly around inside without much harm to them or their surroundings. If you need a pet for children, a rabbit, mouse or fish could be the ideal pet for a unit.
