Does Making Money Online Need Your Blatant Self Promotion?

For lots of people who are making money online, the vast majority of them use article writing and social networking to get their website business out to the buying public. This of course is the way of things for the owner, but not so if that owner is blatantly promoting himself and putting links in every little paragraph he can find. This is a no go.

Working from home earning a living is simply just a dream for lots of people. Working in the comfort of your own home, where discipline is an essential ingredient, is just extremely convenient in so many ways. No fuel costs, lunch is next door, no commuting, no office politics and so the list goes on.

Owning your own website business also of course demands to be worked at daily as any other job and most folk, to get the job done, use social networking and article writing just like this one you're reading right now.

Now if you're new to all this it can be explained quite easily and simply. It's getting your business name out there using written content and links to your website. That's the basics of it and it's all quite simple really. Possibly as important, it's rather enjoyable as well which is great if you're working at it for so many hours per day in your effort to be making money on the internet.

Now, all sites have a similar ruling - Do Not Blatantly Self Promote. And this is a fair comment for several reasons.

First of all, you as a customer will immediately recognise when you're being sold at blatantly and number two, site owners want their visitors to enjoy their experience rather than just be "advertised at" all the time. It's a bit like you walking through your town when along comes a seller right up into your space shouting out "got 'em cheap today love" and when you say no, the seller walks off showing his anger at you for turning him down. People don't like having their space invaded at any time but particularly not, just to be sold at.

This is what blatant self promotion is all about. It's when someone writes content like an article or a blog or similar and puts links in just about every paragraph he can, taking the reader away from the information just to get bombared with blatant advertising for making money on the internet. This is neither professional nor effective. Customers don't like it.

The message is easy enough. Write content which is fresh and interesting and yes of course, include your links to your website business but put one relevant link in the body of text and one in the resource box or biography box. That way people can read your information without feeling like their space is invaded.

So come on website owners and business folk, write your content so that it's nice, fresh and relevant. If you're making money online then don't blatantly promote yourself. Just let your visitors enjoy their time with you. You never know, they might even come back for more.
