We live in the country and are frequented by visits from mother nature; deer, bear, wild turkeys, hawks and a variety of birds. Earlier this summer we found two nests in our yard, phoebes and bluebirds.
Two are blue bird nests and one was a family of phoebes. Recently, all three of the nest's babies were born, so we have eight baby birds in our yard. We take such joy in watching the mother care for her babies, while the father keeps guard close by. What wonder to watch the babies double in size in a week and how quickly they will be mature enough to take flight and start there own life adventure.
I've watched daily at how innocent and helpless the little babies are, unable to fend for themselves and totally relying on their mother. It made me begin to think about the beginning of life in general for us all and how innocent we're born. How we too are totally dependent on our mother and how much we rely on the mentors and role models who surround us to nurture our lives and guide us in the right direction.
So, where did we go wrong? When in our life did we begin to remind ourselves of all the past wrongs we've committed, the mistakes we've made or the events that we've failed at? Why do we insist on focusing upon our negative past experiences and the scarcity in our lives versus positive accomplishments and abundance? Because we believe that what happened in our life yesterday, has something to do with today.
That's the sad news but I'm here to share some powerful good news, it's not true. Yesterday has absolutely nothing to do with today, unless you say it does. We were all born with a free will to choose the life we want to live. You are the only person in your life that has that power, the power to create who and what you want your life to be.
The truth of the matter is that whatever you believe is true.
That's right, what ever you consistently tell yourself about yourself becomes your own reality. Now, stay with me for a moment on this thought because I'm going to prove something to you once and for all that will provide you with a breakthrough and tremendous power on creating the life that you choose.
I'm sure you would agree with me that the average person has no problem holding themselves responsible for the past mistakes they've had in their life. They have no issue re-enacting the negative events that they've experienced and bringing them into their present. So, would you agree with me and acknowledge that you do have the power to create in the present, because you're already doing it. When your thoughts are generated by past based negative experiences, your behavior will follow!
The reason why so many of focus on our negative past events is because we believe that our past has something to do with our present. So, what we end up doing is bringing all the fear, doubt, anger and sadness that accompanied those events when they occurred into the present. Our interpretation of the past based events we've experienced are what cause the damage in the present.
What if you could do what is referred to as a "paradigm shift," which means realize that this is not so. That's right, acknowledge that there is no correlation what so ever between your past and how you behave because there is not.
Now, earlier in this article we discussed and you agreed that you have the power to create in the present. We agreed that although what you've been creating has been based on negative energy, you've demonstrated that you do have the power to create.
So, if you have the power to create, just shift what you're creating from negative based energy, to a positive based one. Past based thinking provides self-limited beliefs, while the present allows you to create unlimited thinking.
All behavior is habitual and any behavior can be changed if you first understand why you do the things you do. All behavior is based on thought, so once you shift you're thinking from past based negative energy, to present based positive energy, your behavior will follow. Once your behavior shifts, so will the actions you take and the results you create. It's a process, it requires effort and discipline but you can do it.
So, what does all of this have to do with being born innocent. Well, when you were a young baby and you first decided to try and walk, I'll bet like most babies you fell down. When a baby attempts to walk, they don't associate falling down with failure, only falling down.
You didn't focus on falling down and you didn't make falling down a mistake, it was just falling down. All you had done was fall down, so you just got right back up and tried again................you're present. The present is the only place where you can create the life that you choose.
The next time you have a challenge in your life, slow down and take a deep breath. Be Aware of where you are, get present if you're not, remember that you were born innocent. When you're innocent, the present is full of "unlimited possibilities." Now go and create the life you desire.
