Alicante, as the gateway to the Costa Blanca perhaps typifies the package holiday destination more than anywhere else in Europe, but hiring a car and exploring the region a little further can prove a rewarding experience
Alicante is perhaps best known for its airport and tens of thousands of holiday makers from across Europe will be travelling through the terminus on their way to established resorts such as Benidorm.
